Healthy homemade strawberry popsicles without the junk!
My kids crave popsicles all year round, even in the middle of winter! But it’s probably not such a good idea to eat popsicles every day. You can hear me answering “no”, “next time”, “how about some fruit?”… It’d be nice to just say “yes!” every day.
So I started making popsicles at home with a blender. This recipe is made with all good for you ingredients so you can give it to your kids everyday – guilt free. I use the Zoku unicorn ice pop molds to up the fun factor (this is not a paid advertisement, just want to share a fun product). Zoku also makes other fun shapes like Dinos, Flamingos, Fish and Ring Pops. If you don’t have these, don’t worry, any popsicle molds will do.
I use strawberries, pineapples, bananas, yogurt and agave syrup. I also like to add in an extra boost of nutrition with hemp seeds if I have them in the pantry. They’re a good source of protein, vitamin E, phosphorus, potassium, magnesium, calcium, iron and zinc.
These popsicles are sweet, creamy and a bit tangy from the pineapple. The hemp seeds are virtually unnoticeable because they blend right in. They hit the spot for my kids and their sweet tooth is satisfied. Mission accomplished.
Best part is, no one will know they just ate a serving of fruits!
If you like frozen yogurt give this 5 minute blueberry banana frozen yogurt a try.
