5 Minute Blueberry Banana Frozen Yogurt

Ever since I got a high-powered blender, it’s been my best friend in the kitchen.  It’s made it so much easier to make smoothies, soups, baked goods (with hidden veggies) and this 5 minute blueberry banana frozen yogurt is no exception.

Store bought frozen treats are often filled with processed ingredients and too much sugar, but this frozen yogurt is made with just 5 wholesome ingredients – yogurt, blueberries, bananas, lemon juice and honey.  The banana and Greek yogurt give the frozen yogurt a creamy rich texture.  Whereas the lemon juice gives it a nice tang.

This recipe works with all types of fruits.  It’s a great way to take advantage of fruits in season.  I buy extra fruit and freeze them for when I need to make smoothies, pies and frozen yogurt.  I even freeze yogurt that’s near expiring but haven’t had time to eat.

The kids always ask me for frozen treats and after learning such an easy way to make frozen yogurt, I can whip it up anytime.

Best part is, this blueberry banana frozen yogurt is made with healthy ingredients so you never need to limit it to once in a while – you can eat it all the time!

Equipment

  • High-powered blender

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup vanilla Greek yogurt
  • 1 1/2 cup frozen blueberries
  • 2 frozen bananas sliced
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon honey or more depending on how sweet the fruits and yogurt is.

Instructions

  • In a blender, add yogurt then the rest of the ingredients. Adding the yogurt first will make it easier for the blender to work.
  • Blend for approximately 40 seconds or until smooth but still icy.
  • Use the tamper to push the ingredients into the blade if it gets stuck.
  • Taste to see if you would like it to be sweeter. If its not sweet enough, add some more honey and blend it for 3 seconds. Don’t blend it too long because the longer you blend it, the more liquid the frozen yogurt becomes.
  • Serve and eat right away before it melts! If the consistency is too watery, spoon into cups and freeze for 15 to 30 minutes.
