This strawberry romaine salad is such a beautiful salad for entertaining. It seems really fancy but its actually really easy to make! Once I brought this salad to a friend’s barbeque and he asked me “do you eat like this every day?” I just laughed because it wasn’t anymore complicated than other salads but the combination of ingredients made it seem so refined!
Ingredients in this salad
- Strawberries: Nothing beats ripe strawberries in season with its bright red colour and sweet fruity flavour.
- Romaine lettuce: Fresh, crispy lettuce leaves are the hallmark of this salad.
- Honey walnuts: Add honey to walnuts and bake until lightly browned. They’ll add a crunchy texture and some sweetness to the salad.
- Feta cheese: With its salty, creamy goodness, feta can take your salads to another level. Simply crumble on top of the salad.
- Apple cider vinegar dressing: Don’t let homemade dressings intimidate you. They are actually easier than it seems. Most of the ingredients you’ll have in your pantry – apple cider vinegar, garlic, honey, olive oil, lemon juice, salt and pepper. Just add the ingredients to a bowl and whisk together.

Strawberry Romaine Salad with Honey Walnuts
Strawberry romaine salad with honey walnuts is an elegant salad that’s just as delicious as its beautiful. Fruity strawberries, honey walnuts and salty creamy feta is an unbeatable combination of flavours and textures.
Ingredients
Salad
- 1 head romaine lettuce washed and chopped into bite sized pieces
- 8 strawberries washed and sliced
- 3/4 cup chopped walnuts
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 3/4 cup feta cheese
Apple cider vinegar dressing
- 1 clove minced garlic
- 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
For the dressing
- Add all the ingredients to a bowl and whisk to combine. Or pour in a tightly sealed container and shake well.
- Taste and adjust the seasoning to your liking. If you like it sweeter then add more honey. If you prefer a more tart dressing then add more lemon juice.
For the salad
- Mix honey and walnuts. Spread on a baking tray and bake at 180°C or 350°F for 5 minutes or until lightly browned. Allow to cool before adding to the salad.
- In a large salad bowl, combine romaine lettuce, strawberries, walnuts and crumbled feta cheese.
- Pour dressing over salad just before serving and toss to combine.
