The perfect healthy summer treat to cool down are these refreshing grape popsicles. They are made with 100% fruit – just seedless purple grapes and one ripe banana! You’ll be pleasantly surprised by how delicious just two ingredients can be.
Its August and the summer heat wave is still going strong. Store bought frozen treats are often full of artificial and unhealthy ingredients that you might not want to eat everyday. The perfect solution are these juicy grape popsicles. They are made with 100% fruit – just grapes and bananas. Naturally sweet, fruity and icy cold to cool you down on those hot summer days.
Since they are made from just fruit, there’s no guilt to give these to your kids everyday. Or even two pops in one day as my kids love them so much they always eat two in a row!
Tips for making delicious grape popsicles
- Choose good tasting sweet grapes. I find purple grapes tend to be sweeter so you don’t need to add any extra sweetener.
- Use seedless grapes. Seeds have a bitter taste so make sure you get seedless.
- You can make these popsicles with 100% grapes but the grape skins are more visible even with a high powered blender. I added a ripe banana to help blend the grapes skins smaller so they are less noticeable. My younger daughter has a very sensitive palate when its comes to texture so she wouldn’t like big pieces of grape skins.
- Don’t blend the grapes and banana too long or it will get foamy and warm.
Ideas to boost nutrition and flavour!
- Add some collagen powder for healthy skin, nails and joint health
- Add some vodka or gin for a fun, summer treat – but make sure the kids don’t get into those!
- Add some probiotic powder to help keep the digestive system healthy
Best part is, these grape popsicles taste so good, no one would be asking for the store bought ones!
